STUDIO RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR

This year, STUDIO has been nominated for Restaurant of the Year 2023 in the Danish Dining Guide, and we have now set a date for the grand "nomination dinner," where we will compete against some of the country's absolute best to strive for the prestigious title. The nomination dinner will be held on September 10th, where we will welcome the jury of the Dining Guide.

The menu has not been finalized yet, but we can confidently reveal that it will be a memorable evening at STUDIO. Christoffer and his team will serve a grand menu featuring the best dishes from our first year in Carlsberg Byen, while restaurant manager Jesper Nielsen and sommelier Jakob Lyngse will delve deep into the cellar to find fantastic bottles to complement the meal.

2 nominations for STUDIO at Dish of the Year

Christoffer and STUDIO have done it again! With two nominations for "Dish of the Year," STUDIO's kitchen continues to maintain the exceptionally high level they have demonstrated since Christoffer took over as head chef. The culinary competition "Dish of the Year" is the Danish gastronomy's equivalent of the Oscars: Every year, the Association of Danish Food Critics nominates the absolute best dishes they have tasted throughout the year, and during the competition, the chefs recreate their nominated dishes in front of an audience and serve them to the food critics, who ultimately select a winner in the categories of "Sea," "Land," and "Cheese & Dessert." Last year, Christoffer received two nominations, and this year he continues his impressive streak with two new splendid nominations:

In the "Sea" category, Christoffer has been nominated with the dish "Squid & Cucumber," along with chefs such as Rasmus Munk from Alchemist and Kristian Baumann from Koan.

In the "Land" category, it is the dish "Duck Breast, Heart, Gizzards, and Liver, Beets, Cherries, and Sichuan Pepper" that has earned STUDIO and Christoffer a nomination alongside chefs such as René Redzepi and Poul Andrias Ziska from Koks in the Faroe Islands.

The other nominees bear witness to the exceptionally high level we are dealing with here: Just being nominated is an honor in itself, but of course, we are crossing all possible fingers that this time it will be Christoffer's turn to bring home a trophy to STUDIO.

The competition will take place on September 17th at the Hotel and Restaurant School in Copenhagen, and if you feel like cheering us on, you're welcome to join. In the meantime, you can take a look at STUDIO's summer menu, which recently earned 6 hearts from Lærke Kløvedal in Politiken.

And last but not least.

It's no secret that with Christoffer at the helm, we have a dream of acquiring a Michelin star for the entrance of STUDIO's new premises in Carlsberg Byen.

Perhaps we also had a small hope that it could have happened at the Michelin Awards yesterday, but it wasn't meant to be this time.

Fortunately, instead, we received another prestigious honor to rejoice in: Yesterday, the renowned ranking list Opinionated About Dining (OAD) announced their annual top 100 of Europe's best restaurants – and we are incredibly proud that STUDIO has made it onto the list at number 78. Here, STUDIO is sandwiched between some of Europe's most iconic restaurants such as Mugaritz and Lasarte, with only nine Danish restaurants ranked above them. On the other hand, one of those also claimed the top spot as Alchemist topped the list for the third time, and we raise our flags and offer our heartfelt congratulations to Rasmus Munk and the entire team.

We also extend our congratulations to our esteemed colleagues, who will now have the privilege of displaying a Michelin star, or two, on their facade. We hope that Team STUDIO will join you soon!
